The American Petroleum Institute (API) estimated that crude oil inventories in the United States rose by 622,000 barrels in the week ending August 29. Gasoline inventories fell by 4.577 million barrels in the week ending August 29, after falling by 2.06 million barrels in the week prior. Although gasoline stocks fell, distillate inventories rose significantly this week, by 3.687 million barrels, after falling by 1.488 million barrels in the week prior.
