Base Metals Preview: COMEX copper lingers around $4.50 mark in early Asia

COMEX copper lingers around $4.50 per pound mark as dollar saw a mild rebound overseas. The major averages on Wall Street posted modest gains on the day. The Dow rose 147.16 points or 0.3 percent to 45,565.23, the Nasdaq edged up 45.87 points or 0.2 percent at 21,590.14 and the S&P 500 crept up 15.46 points or 0.2 percent to 6,481.40. On Friday, the Commerce Department is due to release its report on personal income and spending in the month of July, which includes the Federal Reserve's preferred readings on consumer price inflation.
