Precious metals speculators cut their net long positions in the Silver futures markets further last week, according to the latest Commitment of Traders (COT) data released by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The non-commercial futures contracts of Silver futures, traded by large speculators, hedge funds and retailers, totaled a net position of 50658 contracts in the data reported through August 5, 2025. This was a weekly slide of 8749 net contracts and pulled net longs to a two-and half month low.
