Commodities Buzz: Gold net speculative position soars

Precious metals speculators sharply raised their net long position in the Gold futures, according to the latest Commitment of Traders (COT) data released by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The non-commercial futures contracts of Gold futures, traded by large speculators, hedge funds and retailers, totaled a net position of 253038 contracts in the data reported through July 22, 2025, recording a surge of 39923 contracts from the previous week. The net longs are at five-month high now.
