The European Central Bank (ECB) kept its benchmark interest unchanged today after cutting it consistently in recent months. The ECB kept the deposit facility rate, the main interest rate influencing monetary policy, at 2% - the lowest level in more than two years. Both the main refinancing operations and marginal lending facility rates were also unchanged at 2.15% and 2.40% respectively. The environment remains exceptionally uncertain, especially because of trade disputes, the ECB noted in a statement.
