Natural Gas lingers near six-week low, US gas storage up 6.2% compared to five-year average

Natural Gas futures are holding near six-week lows as tepid undertone in crude oil and near-term demand-supply scenario weighed on sentiments. The US Natural Gas futures currently trade flat at $3.40 per mmbtu. Latest Energy Information Administration or EIA report noted that wworking gas in storage was 2,953 Bcf as on June 27, 2025. This represents a net increase of 55 Bcf from the previous week. At 2,953 Bcf, total working gas is within the five-year historical range. Inventories were down 5.8% y/y, but were 6.2% above their 5-year seasonal average. On the MCX, Natural Gas futures are quoting at Rs 291.10 per mmbtu, down 0.48% on the day after testing a low near Rs 289 per mmbtu.
