Economic Buzz: India's vegetable oil import down 6% on year in Dec-24

The Solvent Extractors’ Association of India has compiled the import data of Vegetable Oils (edible & non-edible) for the month of December, 2024. Import of vegetable oils during December 2024 is reported at 1,231,426 tons compared to 1,311,686 tons in December 2023, consisting 1,185,662 tons of edible oils and 45,764 tons of non-edible oils i.e. down by 6%. The overall import of vegetable oils during first two months of oil year 2024-25, Nov.-Dec’ 24 is reported at 2,859,068 tons compared to 2,472,276 tons during the same period of last year i.e. up by 16%.
