Germany?s inflation rises to 2.6% in December 2024

Germany?s inflation rate climbed to 2.6% in December 2024, up from 2.2% in November, marking the highest level since January. The increase was driven by higher prices for services (4.1%) and food (2%), while energy prices fell at a slower pace (-1.6%). Monthly, CPI rebounded by 0.5%, revised up from 0.4%. For 2024, annual average inflation eased to 2.2%, with core inflation at 3%. The EU-harmonised rate rose 2.8% year-over-year, with a 0.7% monthly gain.
