Economic Buzz: Eurozone unemployment rate drops for first time in four months

Eurozone unemployment rate dropped for the first time in four months in April, preliminary data from the statistical office Eurostat showed on Tuesday. The seasonally adjusted jobless rate dropped to 6.2 percent from 6.3 percent in March. The latest rate was the lowest since December when it was at the same level. The jobless rate was 6.4 percent in April 2024. The EU unemployment rate was 5.9 percent in April, unchanged from March. In the same month a year ago, the rate was 6.0 percent.
