Economic Buzz: German consumer sentiment beats forecasts, hits 8-month high

Germany?s GfK Consumer Climate Indicator rose to -20.6 for May 2025 from a revised -24.3. Income expectations jumped to 4.3, the strongest since last October, while willingness to buy and economic outlook improved for the second and third consecutive months, respectively. The propensity to save fell sharply to 8.4 from 13.8, indicating growing consumer confidence.
